Description
2022: a Heatwave Vintage…
This vintage was once again marked by a wave of spring frosts that would affect the Bordeaux vineyard.
However, at Arsac, the implementation of late pruning and the operation of anti-frost towers helped avoid major damage, thus allowing the vintage to begin with intact harvest potential.
High temperatures began as early as May, with several days above 30°C. June saw the first of many summer heatwaves. Cultivation practices were then adopted to preserve the vineyard as much as possible from drought.
In the middle of this hot and dry summer, the late June rains, and especially those in mid-August, allowed the vines to get through this period in good conditions, resulting in grapes with beautiful concentrations, high phenolic potential, and very satisfactory alcohol levels, all while maintaining good acidity.
